KONA, HAWAIʻI — Powered by imagination, community, and style. The Kona Soapbox Derby + Car Show & Prom is set to debut in April 2026 as a weekend-long celebration of speed, culture, creativity, and connection.
The two-day event kicks off Friday night with an all-ages Car Show & Prom featuring music, dancing, tatted-up rockabilly vibes, and creativity awards. Saturday shifts gears for the Soapbox Derby, where community-built racers take to the streets in a colorful, joy-fueled downhill showdown.
Organized by Water Culture Art – Collective, the event is designed to uplift local youth, educators, and creators through direct community involvement. Proceeds benefit nonprofit arts, cultural, and STEM programs, selected with input from the event’s primary sponsors.
